The Faversham Cottage Hospital and Community Medical Centres provide every one of us in this catchment area with a most valuable service. “The Friends of the Faversham Cottage Hospital and Community Medical Centres” is a voluntary organisation which raises money for the purpose of providing additional amenities and equipment for which the normal NHS funds are insufficient.
We also aim to provide various forms of personal service that can be achieved by voluntary help. The Friends were formed in 1948 to support the Hospital under the new Health Act and are a traditional and vital part of Hospital life. Since then the Friends has extended its remit to include the Faversham Community Medical Centres.
After being re-formed in 1973, our organisation has generated considerable funds for the benefit and comfort of patients and staff, and has provided a variety of equipment and services. This work needs to continue and an inflow of new members is essential to ensure that its work flourishes in the future.
